One of my goals as a plein air artist is to capture a sense of time and place in my paintings. I want you to experience what you would see if you stood in my sandy "slippahs." In this piece, I depicted the expansive view of Oahu's North Shore from Laniakea toward Kaena Point. Laniakea (Lani = heaven, akea = spacious) translates into "wide horizons" or "immense heaven." That it is!
