Sea Shelter is inspired by Swallows Cave, a magical cave in the northwest tip of Kapa Island in Vava’u, Tonga. The cave mouth is 15’ deep and 20’ wide. From our sailboat, we took the dingy with only our snorkeling gear. As soon as I swam into the cave, I was greeting by swirls of bait fish flashing their reflective bodies in the sunlight. The scene was mesmerizing! The schooling bait fish and their movements in the water resemble flocks of swallows.
