Six Manu-o-ku birds ( 3 birds 34" ) ( 3 birds 21" ) I made this original bird design for the centerpiece of the Polynesian Star Navigation compass I created and installed in the Ka'aumoana Hale at Punahou's Kosasa Community in 2019. This Manu-o-ku honors the spirit of the ocean and the love of it's energy in Punahou alumni, teacher and Hokulea Navigator Ka'au Mckenney, and all Polynesian voyagers, wayfinders, educators, students, and people and beings of Pacific Polynesian in a place that connects us to our past and future . In the bird you will find dolphins, birds, double fishhook, Honu and Piko.
