Ho‘omaopopo 1

Ho‘omaopopo, to recollect. A meditative exploration into the idea that the nature of consciousness is the constant and universal mystery. To this end, awareness of self inseparable from the land, sea and sky. A recurring feeling, which as an artist gives me the capacity to pour these images onto canvas purely from my memory. I paint until I can feel the firmness of reef, the sea breeze, and the smell of salt. A simple process that taps into something deep within, and puts back much more than it takes.
