"Front St and Lahaina St 1995"

This oil on linen painting was part of a series done at the direction of the Lahaina Galleries Art Director, Mr. Kim Von Tempsky, in 1995. The other two from this series that are from the same Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurant stairway are: "Treasures in Paradise" and "Swept by the Sea." This one was not finished for reasons the artist does not remember, but the grey tonal underpainting seems sadly appropriate given the 2023 Lahaina tragedy. The recent completed "Lahaina Triptych" shows practically the same scene in full color and with more people. KEYWORDS: Lahaina, Front Street
