I drew inspiration from the Japanese gold leaf screens in my grandmother's home, as well as the tropical flowers she adored. Named for their flame-like shape, resilient torch gingers represent passion, strength, and prosperity. 2024 was a year of many challenges, overcome by leaning into hope and growth. Painting this collection was an act of peaceful defiance, transmuting struggles into healing.
